Match Report
Taunton School Boys-U15B (JCB) vs  King's College, Taunton
On: Saturday, 09 Dec 2023
Venue: Away

A surreal end to the season. King''s had trouble with numbers so instead of a full fixture we saw an exhibition of mixed sides. But what an exhibition, especially after a poor performance against Brymore and the cancellation of Blundells due to the weather. Both sides played hard rugby in a selection that pitted friend against friend, teammate against teammate and Dovey against Dovey. The boys brought an intensity to their play and demonstrated their true ability across the pitch. Thompson was nigh unstoppable in the loose, whilst Armstrong and Wilkinson smashed into ruck after ruck. Vile showed enterprise with some nifty pops off the floor whilst Dutton and Flay both showed an instinct for space with devastating runs, Flay''s try a highlight. But it was Grundy who truly saved the best until last. He was everywhere, running exceptional support lines and playing positive, exciting Rugby. His try was wonderful. Khonda made break after break, as did Holden and Chiu. White was rewarded for his deceptive running with two tries. Rugby was the winner. But the boys can hold their heads up high. A season of almosts, with only two real blips. A joy to coach.
