A decent middle section of the game saw Taunton score four tries, two either side of half time, to secure a comfortable win. Although rarely at our best, we were worthy victors against game, but limited, opposition who did well to keep the scores level for 25 minutes in the first half and not to concede at all during the last quarter.
The narrowness of the pitch combined with our own handling errors and a propensity to give away penalties all contributed to a lack of fluency and there is plenty to work on this week.
Harry Way was again outstanding while Monty Wells and Denzil carried the ball powerfully. This could be a good Senior Colts team despite the loss of a couple of players to longish term injuries but some stern tests lie ahead and we will need to learn quickly.
